Titus Kaphar-Jerome Project

WOW!  Got to go see an amazing exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum of Art last weekend which included work of Titus Kaphar.  We talked about the Jerome Project in class and I stumbled upon the portraits.

5th Grade “Owls”

I’m loving my 5th graders Owls!

First they searched for images of realistic owls. They studied proportions of body parts and textures in fur. We talked about the difference between cartoony owl drawings and life-like drawings.  The rock drawings were less realistic with focus on patterns, contrast and moved away from realism.
