5th Grade Sketchpad 5.1 Self-Portraits

WOW!

5th graders learned to use Sketchpad 5.1 to create these digital portraits!

8th Grade Portraits

 WOW!

Students had the choice to use Photopea, Sketchpad 5.1, Google Drawing or pencil, marker, paint OR a combination of all of them.  I love the individuality.

Fun with Sketchpad! Creative Portraits

Use your photo as a template to create a more colorful, unique image using Sketchpad 5.1.

I am using COOL colors to create my work of art.
It is helpful to come up with a color scheme to make your art have a certain mood.
WARM colors are yellows, oranges and reds.
Contrasting colors are across from each other on the color wheel.

Have fun with pattern if you like! Keep your photo as part of the art or place a rectangle in the background with a gradient or solid color.

Experiment and have fun!!

He is a link to a video of me going through the process.

I am still working on this...

Everyday brings a different mood, experience, challenge...

Jacob Lawrence

Jacob Lawrence (September 7, 1917 – June 9, 2000)
View the video to learn more about his life and style of art. I love the way he simplifies shapes and uses bold colors.  His artwork is very personal, telling a story about his history and the African-American struggle.
