Advanced Drawing and Painting
Here are a few examples of the pastel portraits in progress. I am thrilled to see students' individual styles shining through as the portraits start to take shape.

The beginning stages...
Advanced Drawing and Painting
Students have begun blocking in the values of the "almost" white still-life. They are painting on untempered Masonite board that has been primed with 4 coats of plain old primer (a good stand in if you are short on gesso). Students first painted a warm wash of color on their boards. Students then created black by mixing ultramarine blue and burnt umber acrylic paint, this collaboration of color creates a rich black, with depth. Mixing the black they created with white, a gray scale is developing. It is always exciting to see the initial stages of a painting.

Create a Website!
Designing for the Web
As we approach the final month of class you will be learning the basics of Dreamweaver Cs5.5. You will use your knowledge of Flash and Photoshop to help you make a creative website. Now that we have critiqued many websites we know what elements you need to create a successful website. Apply what you have learned to your own site. Answer the questions about your concept in the Final Exam Project Document.
