It's Summer Time...

Step away from your screen

The school year is over and summer has officially begun. What are you going to do?

I plan to enjoy the moments I can. Appreciate the wonders of nature because that seems to be a constant source of beauty. I plan to take walks, swim, kayak, garden, do yoga, paint, play tennis, be with my family, do house projects, sew, visit friends, cook,  volunteer on Outer Island, see where I can help out the community here and there.

I plan to reflect on my teaching practice. What lessons work?
How can I be a better teacher?

Whatever you plan on doing this summer I hope you manage to have some fun!

I'll see you all soon-hopefully in person!

Big VIRTUAL hugs to all of you!
:)

Cool Shades! Getting ready for summer!

Getting ready for Summer!

For your final drawing project create a black and white drawing using marker, pencil or crayon of yourself, a friend, family member or a pet!  Include a pattern somewhere in your drawing to create movement and variety.  You are going to contrast the black and white drawing with a colorful pair of sunglasses that contain an ideal environment.  Beach? Mountains? Baseball stadium?  Whatever you like!
Have fun with it! I cannot wait to see them!

Don't forget to view the video-to get some clear directions.

Notice how the hair and necklace have patterns.

The bear has a lot of shading. This is more advanced shading technique. You can try if you like. Notice the pattern on the bandanna.
