• Bring lunch!!! We will be eating after the gallery visits.  There is an ice cream shop down the road that has offered it's space for us to eat!!  Hot chocolate will be purchased for anyone that would like one.

Art Club Meeting Canceled November 6th

This weeks meeting is canceled.  We will resume meetings next Tuesday.  Come prepared to make candles.  Students doing work for the Scholastic Art Exhibit should bring ideas.

Hello Art Club!

There is no school on Tuesday so no Art Club. 
We will be meeting on Wednesday instead. 


Be prepared for candle making, bring what you need. I'll have hot wax and wicks.... 

Please continue to check your email, students need to respond to emails so I know how many will attend meetings.

ART CLUB MEETING

The first Art Club meeting will be on October 8th until 4:15

Please see the list of ART CLUB weekly members outside of Mrs. Kaisers room.  If you are unable to attend the meeting please see Mrs. Kaiser during the day on October 8th.  

Also posted is the list of students that are invited to participate in an Art Workshop once a month after school.  Please make sure you sign up by October 22nd.  I need to prepare in advance so if you would like to participate make sure you get sign-up on time.
The activity will run until 4:30. Please arrange a ride home.

Everyone that turned in an application is in one of the groups so everyone can participate in one way or another.

 Why is there an Art Club application?

 Shouldn't everyone be able to participate?

Typically there about 50 students that want to be involved with Art Club, some are kind of  into art and some are VERY VERY  much into art.  The completion of the application shows me who is willing to put in the effort of answering some art-related questions and creating an art project in order to participate. Supplies and space are limited (and so is time).  I will try to create a schedule that will accommodate all students that complete their application thoroughly. Art Club is populated first by 8th graders, then 7th, then 6th, then 5th.   There may be an alternate day to schedule everyone depending on how many students complete the application and project thoroughly.

ART CLUB INFORMATIONAL MEETING TUESDAY 9/17

Students interested in Art Club should attend the after school meeting on September 17th.  The meeting will last until 3:30.  All students interested in Art Club must either attend the meeting or see Mrs Kaiser on Tuesday to get the application and questionnaire.

Students cannot join Art Club mid-year unless they complete and submit the application in the beginning of the school year. 

Please see Mrs. Kaiser if you have any questions.

Creating Value & Mark Making Techniques

Summer is winding down-that means school is winding up?

Let us all-teachers and students alike- make a "pledge" to be positive, supportive and empathetic. 
To work hard, learn lots and be brave creative individuals.
This school year will go by in a blip!
Use your time wisely-use it to nurture your mind, body and spirit!
Decide to be kind, thoughtful and sincere! 

See you soon in Art class... but first I need to finish my painting  before the summer ends. When winter comes and the Sound is too cold to be on, I will  remember the warm sun on my face, the feeling of floating in the water, the sound of the seagulls and the pleasure and peace that one finds from the beauty of nature.
