Art Club members have completed portraits of a group of orphans living in Guatemala and they are on their way there as I type! Here are just a few examples of the work they did for The Memory Project.

Final Pastel Portrait
Advanced Drawing and Painting
As we approach the last days of school I will be posting completed student work. The piece below is an excellent example of taking a portrait to the next level. The inspiration for this project was Pablo Picasso's portraits. We viewed his very realistic work and his cubist work. We also talked about how using a particular color scheme can make an impact. This student chose an analogous color scheme. The placement of the colors helps move the viewers eye around the piece. The student did a wonderful job creating balance by dividing the space appropriately. I love that this piece shows the student's ability to handle the medium while giving us this unique work of art!
